>> Yamato/AUs
Yamato is Jun's childhood friend who encouraged him to follow his dream of becoming a knight, meanwhile he took up crafting and writing. They've met when Yamato was around 6 years old and have been inseparable since. They've dated for a few years but bc of their codependent nature Yamato decided to take a step back and stay friends. To anyone not in the know however nothing has changed, they're still really close and intimate with each other. With Jun becoming a royal knight living on the palace grounds they can't meet up as often but when D stops taking his himbos including Jun to his bed (bc it feels wrong with him being in love with and yearning for Boutarou), Yamato does his best to see him often and help him ease the ache that Jun himself doesn't even notice he's having. (Eventually he gets himself a boyfriend and later husband who coincidentally turns out to be Boutarou's best friend, Kazuto, a noble from the neighboring kingdom. - had to walk back on this bc Yamato is nothing without his angel)
Yamato lives in this quiet town with his childhood friend Jun, working at a cat café and writing or crafting little guys in his spare time. He hears about the arrival of a new priest which he shares with Jun, whose family is loosely religious but they don't force their son to go to church. The other two priests in town are strange characters so they're curious as to what this new one will be like. Upon seeing him Yamato immediately suspects that the giant intimidating buff man is not a priest at all and keeps his guard up around him. He warns Jun something is off with him and that they should stay away - to no avail as Jun immediately gets a crush on D. So Yamato is forced to tag along to more church visits to protect his angel from this potentially dangerous stranger but he ends up biting off more than he can chew, with the mysterious "priest" unabashedly flirting with him too. One thing leads to another and he ends up in a poly relationship with Jun and him.
Yamato is a dutiful and serious angel who has been close to Jun since he can remember, guiding him along the path laid out before them. The nature of their relationship is already strange as no other angels have bonds like this to his knowledge. He yearns to touch his beautiful angel companion but that's another thing they aren't allowed to do, forming friendships and relationships is for humans only, the angels should be obedient soldiers of god. So he keeps these feelings buried deep inside his mind behind many layers of denial.
However it all comes crashing down when one day Jun returns different. He doesn't look changed but Yamato can feel how bit by bit he's getting corrupted, and after interrogating him he learns the reason is D, the human Jun is tasked with guarding. Yamato freaks out, getting hit by many emotions at once: panic, jealousy, fear and so on. He doesn't want to lose his precious angel. He's very hostile to D at first, hating him for seducing and corrupting Jun and also for being the one to feel his warmth instead of himself. D is very good at seeing through him and even with their bad start turns out Yamato is not immune to the human either, slowly getting himself corrupted too. D encourages them to stop holding back and just touch each other like they had wanted for so long, embracing corruption instead of heaven's cold, unshakeable order.
Why would it be wrong if it feels so right?
Yamato was born to a human mother as a result of a deal she made with a demon who asked for her firstborn, making him part human raised in hell by his demon mother, joined later by his human turned demon mom. He met Jun young and they've been very close since, he worships his angel who brings light in his life. He denied his need for sustenance since it started to manifest as he matured, refusing Jun's offer to give him his body, being unaware that Jun is not just doing this out of necessity, he's in love with him. His continued foolish behavior of going against his nature brings him to the brink of starvation.
D, drawn in by his pheromones going haywire, shows up at the right time to give him maybe not what he'd want but what he so desperately needs. Unable to refuse in his state (even begging for it), they spend long hours together with D thoroughly exploring his body. After returning to Jun he's filled with regret and wants to keep denying himself, however he gets hungry again way sooner than he expects. This time Jun won't let him starve himself and confesses that he's wanted to do this with him for a long time. He wants to forget about D but Jun won't let him, until D himself finds them.
